Itineraries


Day 1: Arrive to Kathmandu – Trek Preparation. Overnight at hotel (Our team will pick you up from the airport and drop to the hotel.)

You will arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), after completing immigration and customs formalities, our representative from HimalayanWindows will greet you and escort you to the hotel.  The afternoon is for the rest and the last hour of shopping for your adventure trek to EBC. Our manager will brief you about your adventure trek to Everest Base Camp. Or you may take walking with your guide to become more familiar with the town.

Overnight at the hotel.

If you are landing late in the afternoon/evening, we suggest keeping one extra day in Kathmandu before leaving for the trek. On this day, we prepare for the trek and buy essentials gears in Kathmandu.

Day 2: Fly Kathmandu to Lukla - Trek Phakding (2610m/8561ft). Trek for 3-4 hrs

At very early in the morning (Guide will explain the flight time); drive to the domestic airport to take a scenic flight to Lukla, the main entrance to the Khumbu region. Upon your arrival at Lukla airport, you will be greeted by our local staff and our supplies, gears will be taken by porters or loaded onto yaks, then your adventure trek begins with a 3-4 hours trek down through terraced hillsides and stone fences to the Dudh Koshi river and you will cross the suspension bridge with several prayer flags to our first halt at Phakding. Remember the say Buddhists prayer “OM Mani Padme Hum” during the monastery visit and be sure to walk clockwise around these special “Mani (Prayer) Stones. Overnight at Phakding

Day 3: Trek from Fakding (Phakding) to Namche Bazaar (3440m/11283ft) – Trek for 5-6 hrs

This is the toughest hiking day as you will hike through rolling terrain, plowed fields, traditional homes, pine forests, and Dudh Koshi River with several suspension (hanging) bridges. Ascending to the entrance of Sagarmatha national park, the snowy view of peak Thamserku (6608m) gives us a complete taste of the supreme mountain scenery to come. After hiking for almost 6 hours via Monjo and taking lunch on the way, you will have your final step to Namche Bazar, the Sherpa Village. You will spend 2 nights in Namche Bazar for acclimatization. Overnight at Namche

Day 4: Acclimatization day at Namche Bazzar – Hike around (2-3 hrs)

This is your rest day at Namche Bazzar for acclimatization. It means to stay to gain strength and get familiar with altitude. After breakfast, we go for a hike for a couple of hours to maybe Everest View hotel or Syangboche to enable our bodies to better adjust to the altitude before continuing the ascend. We can also enjoy the snowy view of Kwangde (6380m), Thamserku (6608m) and Kangtega (6685m). When we ascend for a day hike, the peaks Nuptse (7861m), Lhotse (8414m), Ama Dablam (6856m), and even Mount Everest (8848m). The day can be spent wandering around the Namche Bazar, shopping around, having good coffee, playing snooker/cards and etc. Overnight at Namche

Day 5: Trek from Namche Bazzar to Tengboche (3860m/12661ft) - Trek for 5-6 hrs.

This route from Namche to Tengboche is also kind of spiritual because of several monasteries and temples. The trail heads through Kayangjuma towards Sansa and the pine forest before reaching Tengboche. You will visit Tengboche Monastery, the spiritual center of Khumbu situated at an elevation of 3860m. Overnight at Tengboche

Day 6: Trek from Tengboche to Dingboche (4360m/14301ft) – Trek for 5-6 hrs

You will trek to Dingboche up to the elevation of 4360m and trek for almost 6 hours. You will also be crossing suspension bridges from where a spectacular view of snowy mountains including Ama Dablam can be seen. The valley begins slowly to open up as you reach the confluence of the Lobuche River, a steep ascend across the river brings you to Dingboche; the gateway to Imja Tso (Island Peak). Day 7: Another Rest Day at Dingboche – Hike Around for acclimatization

This is another rest day during your Everest Base Camp trekking, you will need to adjust an altitude again as you will be ascending up to 5000m now. A short hike around Dingboche gives you the strength and capacity to adapt to the local weather. Overnight at Dingboche

Day 8: Trek from Dingboche to Lobuche (4840m/16203ft) – Trek for 5-6 hrs

On this day, you will hike to Lobuche which lies at an elevation of 4840m, on the way to Lobuche, you pass through a number of stone memorials to honor climbers who failed to attempt to make it to Mount Everest. This route offers stunning views of Nuptse, Cholatse, Thamserku, and several other jaw-dropping mountain views. When the train reaches to Khumbu Glacier moraine, you will have the closest view of the Khumbutse, Lingtren, Pumori, and Mahalangur Himal. Overnight at Lobuche

Day 9: Trek from Lobuche to Gorek Shep (5181m/16994m) – Everest Base Camp; EBC (5364m/17594ft) – Gorek Shep – Trek for 7-8 hrs

This day is the most awaited and thrilling day of your trek to EBC. After breakfast, you will hike to Gorakshep (The last settlement on this EBC trekking), you will take lunch at Gorakshep and hike up to the amazing Khumbu Icefall and you will trek to Everest Base camp; spend about an hour exploring the campsite which is gifted by scenic natural beauty. After an exploration of EBC, trek back to Gorakshep. Spend a night at Gorakshep

Day 10: Trek from Gorekshep to Kala Pattar (5545m/18188ft); 2-3 hrs – Pheriche (4280m) – Trek for 3-4 hrs

Early in the morning (before the sun rises); hike to Kalapatthar (5545m) and this is the highest point of this trek from where the magnificent mountain views can be seen in front of you. This is an excellent viewpoint of Mount Everest including Pumori, Nuptse, Lhotse and etc. After spending an hour on the viewpoint, trek back to Gorakshep; eat breakfast, and trek down to Pheriche. Overnight at Pheriche

Day 11: Trek from Pheriche to Namche – Trek for 5-6 hrs.

This day is another day of descending with views of Mount Everest, Lhotse, and Amadablam. We descend to Deboche and short trek to Tengboche Monastery. We will continue descending to Dudh Koshi River and then climb for 1 and half hours to Kyangjuma for lunch. We will finish our trek with a gradually descending walk from Kyangjuma to Namche Bazar. Overnight at Namche

Day 12: Trek from Namche to Lukla (2800m) - Trek for 5-6 hrs.

You will leave Namche Bazaar and get a big descent to Phakding; you will have plenty of scenic photos if the weather is clear. And further descending to Lukla as we begin with a descent, the climb to end the trip of our adventure of a lifetime! Overnight at Lukla

Day 13: Lukla to Kathmandu by Flight. Overnight at hotel

Note: Keep a few days gap before flying to Bhutan in Kathmandu. Due to Lukla flight uncertainty; you can do Kathmandu, Bhaktapur Patan City Sightseeing Tours in between.

Day 14: Fly from Kathmandu to Paro

Flying to Paro is one of the most spectacular of all mountain flights. Whether flying along with the Himalayan range from Kathmandu or over the foothills, each flight is a mesmerizing feat and offers exciting descent into the Kingdom. On arrival at the airport received by our representative and transferred to Thimphu, the modern capital town of Bhutan. Overnight at the hotel in Thimphu.

Day 15: Thimphu Sightseeing Day Tour

There are a good many places to see in the capital which have a very peaceful, laid-back feel about them. Thimpu is a moderately small city having a population of approximately 80000 people and the streets are wide and tree-lined. You will almost surely visit the Late King’s Memorial Chorten, the National Library, Drubthob Nunnery, Folk Heritage Museum, the handmade paper factory, the school of arts and crafts where young students learn the traditional arts and crafts (Zo Rig Chusum – the thirteen crafts), Gold and the Silver Smiths workshop, Zangtopelri Lhakhang, and the Handicraft Emporium and the local handicraft centers to see the weavers at work and also varieties of textiles, thangka paintings, masks, jewelry, etc

Afternoon you can also visit Thimpu Dzong which is the administrative headquarter of Bhutan.

Late afternoon drive to Paro for overnight stay.

Day 16: Paro Sightseeing and Tiger's nest hiking Day Tour

After breakfast hike to Taktsang (Tiger’s Nest) Monastery, which is Bhutan’s most famous monastery. It is perched on the edge of a steep cliff, about 900 meters above Paro Valley. The hike to reach the viewpoint of the monastery makes for a nice half-day excursion. After lunch, you can visit another important site which you could not complete on the previous days.

After lunch, a tour of Bhutan’s national museum, a fascinating place housed in an old watchtower above the huge Paro Dzong (monastery/fortress). The museum holds a fantastic collection of Bhutanese national treasures ranging from ancient armor to textiles and thangka paintings. Then, we drive to the head of the valley and visit Drukgyel Dzong built in a location that was chosen for its control over the route to Tibet. An amazing view of Mount. Jumolhari (23,996ft /7314m) can be visibly seen from here. Also, visit Rinpung Dzong and a typical Bhutanese farmhouse.

Day 17: Paro to Kathmandu by flight.

After early breakfast in the hotel, drive to the airport to connect flight for onward destination. Your trip ends in Kathmandu. Farewell with a happy face!
