Overview


The Annapurna Base Camp Shortest Trek, spanning 5 days, is the ideal option for reaching ABC swiftly, commencing from the picturesque city of Pokhara. While the trek amidst the Annapurna Mountains can be demanding, it is achievable for moderately fit individuals with no prior trekking experience. This trek typically fits within a 9 to 10-day itinerary, including your stay in Kathmandu.

Itineraries


Day 01: Drive Kathmandu to Pokhara (820m) | Optional: Flight (25 minutes)

Our team will pick you up from the hotel and drop you at the bus station to drive to Pokhara. It takes about 6- 7 hours to reach Pokhara. There are regular tourist buses that leave early morning from Kathmandu.

Alternatively, you can fly to Pokhara, there are several flights operated throughout the day. If you have a short holiday duration, you shall proceed with the trek the same day you fly to Pokhara.

Our guide will come to meet you and brief you about the Annapurna Base Camp Short Trek.

Note: Upon request, we provide you pick-up service from Kathmandu airport to your hotel. Also, we can assist book your hotel in Kathmandu upon your request.

Day 02: Drive from Pokhara to Siwai (2-3 hrs) and trek to Chhomrong (2140m) | 4-5 hrs trek

As soon as you finish your breakfast at the hotel, our guide comes to the hotel to pick you up. We drive to Siwai via Nayapul which takes about 2 to 3 hours. Before we reach Siwai, we stop by Birethanti to register our details of permits (ACAP) and TIMS. Take a bit of rest at Siwai. We start our first day at Annapurna Base Camp Short trek to Chhomrong (2140m).  During of this day hike is about 4 to 5 hours through the beautiful Gurung villages, suspension bridges, Yak pastures, and farmlands along with splendid views of towering snow peaks.

You will be accommodated at one of the best available tea houses in Chhomrong with food.

Day 03: Trek from Chomrong to Himalaya (2920m) | 6 -7 hours trek

Today, we wake up early in the morning to enjoy the sunrise view of snowy mountain peaks along with a cup of fresh tea/coffee. After seeing a great sunrise view and having breakfast, we start our second day at Annapurna Base Camp short trek to the Himalayas (2920m). The total duration of this day trek is about 6 to 7 hours. We first descend via a stone staircase to the Chhomrong Khola for about an hour then we start ascending right after crossing a Chhomrong Suspension bridge which is the longest bridge in this region. After about two of our hiking through a stone staircase, we reach Sinwa Danda, the view from this place is amazing. Then we walk again to Bamboo, there are no shops until we reach Bamboo, so we better bring some cookies and water before leaving Sinwa Danda. Before we reach the Himalayas, we cross a smooth and flat path passing through forests of bamboo, rhododendron, and several villages and another descent to Dovan before finally reaching the Himalayas.

Day 04: Trek from Himalaya to Macchapuchchhre Camp ‘MBC’ (3700m) 3-4 hours and Visit Annapurna Base Camp ‘ABC’ (4130m) and trek back to MBC – 3-4 hrs

Today the exciting trek begins right after breakfast at the tea house in Himalayas. The exciting trip takes you to the Annapurna Base Camp (ABC), situated at an elevation of 4130 meters above sea level. This is the highest point of this Annapurna Base Camp Short Trek. The total hike to ABC via MBC is about 4 hours. Upon arrival at ABC, you will be amazed by mountains and their panoramic scenes including Majestic Machhapuchchhre, mount Hiuchuli, Annapurna South, Annapurna I, Annapurna III, Gandharva Chuli, and Gangapurna. And wait until the next morning for the sunrise view over the towering peaks.

Day 05: Trek to MBC to Jhinu Danda (Hot Spring) – 1780m | 8 – 9 hrs trek

After breakfast, we walk down to Bamboo, collecting great experiences. In the morning, we take a glimpse of sunrise over Mt. Annapurna I and other towering peaks, we retrace back to Bamboo and to Jhinu Danda following the same trail until Chommrong. We stay overnight at Jhinu Dada where you will enjoy the hot spring the next day in the morning.

Day 06: Trek to Siwa (1230m)/Syauli Bazaar (1220m) | 3-4 hrs trek and Drive back to Pokhara (3 hrs)

Early morning, you will visit Hot Spring beside the Modi Khola riverbank, where you can take a bath in the natural hot water. The walk to the hot spring takes about 20 minutes from  Jhinu Danda. Then you back to the tea house, have breakfast, and start to descend to the Komrong Khola and get a new bridge, where you follow the river bank and through the forest to the Siwa (1230m). We drive to Pohara from Siwa/Syauli bazaar by Jeep or taxi which takes about 3 to 4 hours. You will see many other trekkers here who come from Ghorepani Poonhill Trek before driving to Pokhara.

Day 07: Drive back to Kathmandu | Optional: Flight 25 minutes

Early morning, we drive to the tourist Bus Park to drive back to Kathmandu which takes about 6-7 hours. If you are driving my private vehicle, you can leave late in the morning as well.

Alternatively, you can fly back to Kathmandu and save some time to explore Kathmandu.

Note: Upon request, we can help you book your accommodation and other sightseeing in Kathmandu and provide an airport transfer on your last day to another destination.
