Itineraries


Day 01: FLY IN PARO - TRANSFER THIMPHU & SIGHTSEEING

Arrive at Paro International Airport. Upon arrival, your Bhutanese guide and driver will greet you. Once the formalities of immigration are complete, take a scenic drive to Thimphu, the charming capital of Bhutan. On the way, stop at the Tamchog Lhakhang iron bridge, built by the famous Tibetan saint Thangtong Gyalpo. In Thimphu, visit the following:

Buddha Dordenma (Buddha Point): One of the largest Buddha statues in the world.

Memorial Chorten: Built in honor of the third King of Bhutan.

Tashichho Dzong: The fortress of the glorious religion, housing the secretariat and throne room of His Majesty the King (if time does not permit, we will visit this site next day)

DAY 02: THIMPHU SIGHTSEEING - TRANSFER PARO

Get a taste of other sights in Thimphu after breakfast, such as:

Folk Heritage Museum – to experience the traditional Bhutanese lifestyle.
National Institute for Zorig Chusum (Arts & Crafts School) – see students learning 13 traditional Bhutanese arts.
Craft Bazaar – to buy authentic handmade Bhutanese products.

Following lunch, travel back to Paro Valley. On the way, stop at Tamchog Lhakhang Viewpoint if missed earlier.

DAY 03: HIKE TIGER'S NEST & PARO SIGHTSEEING

Getting up early, have a unique hike to Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest) – Bhutan’s most popular establishment, spectacularly placed on a cliff 900 meters above the Paro Valley floor. The route travel is a 4-5 hours walk at a leisurely pace. Eat lunch at the cafe, with beautiful views of the monastery. The tour mixes gentle and steep hikes as well as stony and smooth trails. For an additional US$25 a person, you may also take yourself to take a horse up.

Later, visit:
Kyichu Lhakhang: One of Bhutan’s oldest and most sacred temples, constructed in the seventh century.
Paro Dzong (Rinpung Dzong): A magnificent fortress-monastery, overlooking the Paro Valley.

DAY 04: PARO - DEPARTURE

After breakfast, your guide will transfer you to Paro International Airport for your onward flight.
Bid farewell to the Land of the Thunder Dragon with wonderful memories of Bhutan’s culture, people, and landscapes.

Paro International Airport connects to the international airports of Nepal (Kathmandu, KTM), India (Delhi, Bagdogra, Kolkota, Gaya, Guwahati), Bangladesh (Dhaka), Thailand (Bangkok), and Singapore (SIN).
