Itineraries


Day 01: Fly to Lhasa in Tibet (3750m) / Hotel

Your journey begins as you arrive in Lhasa, the capital city of Tibet. The city sits at an elevation of 3750 meters, surrounded by breathtaking mountain landscapes. Upon your arrival, you will be warmly welcomed and transferred to your hotel. Take some time to rest and acclimatize to the high altitude, allowing your body to adjust to the thin air.

Day 02: Lhasa sightseeing/hotel

Today, you will embark on a fascinating sightseeing tour of Lhasa. Visit the iconic Potala Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and former residence of the Dalai Lama. Marvel at its grandeur, as you explore the intricate artwork and spiritual treasures within its walls. Next, venture to the Jokhang Temple, the holiest site in Tibetan Buddhism, and join the local pilgrims as they perform their daily rituals. Immerse yourself in the lively Barkhor Street, where you can browse through local shops and experience the vibrant Tibetan culture.

Day 03: Lhasa Sightseeing/hotel

Continue your exploration of Lhasa with visits to other significant landmarks. Explore the serene Drepung Monastery, once the largest monastery in the world and an important center of Tibetan Buddhism. Discover the Sera Monastery, known for its lively debates among the monks. Gain insight into the deep-rooted traditions and spirituality of Tibet as you explore these ancient monastic complexes.

 

Day 04: Drive to Gyantse via Yamdrok lake & drive to Shigatse

Today, embark on a scenic drive to Shigatse, the second-largest city in Tibet. En route, you will pass through the charming town of Gyantse, known for its historic architecture and the stunning Gyantse Kumbum, a multi-tiered Buddhist stupa. Arriving in Shigatse, visit the Tashilhunpo Monastery, the traditional seat of the Panchen Lama. Marvel at the magnificent Maitreya Buddha statue and immerse yourself in the spiritual ambiance of this sacred place.

Day 05: Drive to Saga (4,600m) 280km, O/N at Guest house/Tented Camp. 

Leaving Shigatse behind, you’ll embark on a picturesque drive to Saga. The journey takes you through vast Tibetan plateaus, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and landscapes. As you reach Saga, settle into your guesthouse or tented camp for a comfortable overnight stay.

Day 06: Saga – Manasarovar (4550m) 460km, – O/N at Guest house/Tented Camp

Today, you’ll continue your journey toward the holy Lake Manasarovar. As you traverse the rugged terrain, marvel at the vastness of the Tibetan plateau. Upon reaching Lake Manasarovar, take some time to explore its serene beauty and immerse yourself in its spiritual significance. Spend the night at a guesthouse or tented camp near the lake, enjoying the peaceful ambiance of this sacred place.

Day 07: Explore Lake Manasarover then drive to Darchen (4,660m) 53km. O/N at Guest house/Tented Camp.

Dedicate the morning to further exploration of the enchanting Lake Manasarovar. Absorb the tranquility of the surroundings and take in the awe-inspiring views. As you arrive, settle into your guesthouse or tented camp and prepare to immerse yourself in the rich history and architectural wonders of this ancient kingdom.

Day 08: Trek to – Dira Phuk (4,900m) 18km. O/N at Guest house/Tented Camp

Embark on the awe-inspiring Kailash Kora trek, a sacred pilgrimage around Mount Kailash. Begin your journey by trekking to Dira Phuk, located at an altitude of 4900 meters. The trek covers a distance of 18 kilometers, taking you through rugged terrain and offering panoramic views of the sacred mountain. Reach Dira Phuk, where you’ll spend the night at a guesthouse or tented camp, surrounded by the majestic beauty of the Himalayas.

Day 09: Dira Phuk – Zuthul Phuk (4,750m) 20km. O/N at Guest house/Tented Camp.

Continue your trek along the Kailash Kora, as you make your way from Dira Phuk to Zutul Phuk. Covering a distance of 20 kilometers, the trail presents awe-inspiring landscapes and spiritual experiences. Pass by the holy Dolma La Pass, an important milestone on the pilgrimage route. Reach Zutul Phuk, where you’ll spend the night at a guesthouse or tented camp, reflecting upon the spiritual significance of the journey.

Day 10: Zuthul Phuk - Darchen (14km) – drives to Manasarover - O/N at Guest house/Tented Camp 

Complete the final leg of the Kailash Kora, trekking 14 kilometers from Zutul Phuk back to Darchen. Once in Darchen, embark on a scenic drive to Manasarovar – Pinchung. Upon arrival, settle into your guesthouse or tented camp, and enjoy the tranquility of the area surrounding Lake Manasarovar.

Day 11: Drive to Saga O/N at Guest house/Tented Camp 

Today, bid farewell to the sacred lands of Kailash and Manasarovar as you embark on a drive back to Saga. Relish the scenic landscapes and the memories of your spiritual journey, as you settle into your guesthouse or tented camp for the night.

Day 12: Drive to Kyirong Border Crossing / Overnight at Guesthouse

Continue your journey towards the Kyirong Border Crossing, the gateway between Tibet and Nepal. Enjoy the scenic drive as you make your way through picturesque landscapes. Arriving at the border, settle into your guesthouse and prepare for the border crossing procedure.

Day 13: Kyirong to Kathmandu, Nepal / Drive (6-7 hours)

Today marks the final leg of your journey as you cross the border and drive from Kyirong to Kathmandu, Nepal. Enjoy the stunning views of the Himalayas as you descend from the Tibetan plateau into the lush valleys of Nepal. After an exhilarating journey, you will arrive in Kathmandu, the vibrant capital city of Nepal. Reflect upon the memories and experiences you gained during your exploration of Tibet as you settle into your accommodations in Kathmandu, marking the end of this extraordinary adventure.

Day 14: Departure.

Depending on your flight time, we will transfer you to the international airport for your flight back home or extend your trip to Nepal.
