Day 01: Kathmandu to Lhasa (3,650 m.)

Fly to Lhasa or arrival at Lhasa from Mainland China. Lhasa is situated on the north bank of Kyi-chu River and in the Tibetan language means “Place of the Gods”. You will then be transferred to your hotel and assisted in the check-in process as well. Rest is important today as you acclimatize to the rarefied atmosphere of this high altitude city. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 02: In Lhasa 

After breakfast proceed for full day sightseeing of Potala Palace and Jokhang Temple, . Potala Palace, this legendary palace built atop a single hill is synonymous with Tibet by the first foremost king Songtsen Gompa. Jokhang Temple, situated in the heart of Old Lhasa, it houses Tibet’s most precious religious relic, a golden Shakyamuni Buddha which was brought as a gift by the Chinese Princess Wen Cheng on the occasion of her wedding to the Tibetan King, Songtsen Gompo. Barkhor Market place, which is the religious and social focus of Lhasa. After Sightseeing you will be transferred to hotel for your Overnight at hotel in Lhasa.

Day 03: In Lhasa 

After breakfast full day sightseeing of Sera Monastery, Drepung Monastery, Barkhor Market. Sera Monastery, 5 Kms north of Lhasa, Sera setting is one of Lhasa’s prettiest monasteries. Once a community of more than 5,000 monks resided here and was virtually extinguished by the Chinese. Some free time for shopping or own activities O/N at Hotel.

Day 04: Lhasa to Gyantse (3,950 m.) to Shigatse (3,900 m.) 341 KM

Drive to Gyantse while crossing over Karo-La (5,010 mt.), Kamba-La (4,794 mt.), the colorful Yamdrok Lake and the Brahmaputra River (Yarlung Tsangpo). The 260 kms from Lhasa to Gyantse should approximately take five to six hours of driving to pass through. Visit in the morning, the Kumbum Chorten and Pelkor Chode Monastery in the town before driving to Shigatse. Visit Panchen Lamas’ Tashilhunpo Monastery in the town. Overnight at hotel or guest house. The 90 kms from Gyantse to Shigatse should approximately take two to two and a half hours of driving to pass through.

Day 05: Shigatse to Shegar (4,050 mt.): to Rongbuk (4,980 mt.) 340KM

Drive from Shigatse to Shegar which is also known as the New Tingri. The 225 kms from Shigatse to Shegar should approximately take five to six hours of driving to pass through. Drive to the Rongbuk Monastery via the Pang-La pass. It is situated below the giant north face of Mt. Everest. Overnight stay at guest house. The 90 kms from Shegar to Rongbuk should approximately take three hours of driving to pass through and you can enjoy spectacular views of Mt. Everest (8,848 mt.), Mt. Cho Oyu (8,201 mt.) and Mt. Makalu (8,481 mt.). O/N at Guest house.

Day 06: Excursion to Everest Base Camp (North Face) (5,150 mt.) & drive to Tingri 

After an early morning two-hour trek from the Rongbuk Monastery to the Everest Base Camp (North Face), drive from there to Tingri. Overnight at hotel or guest house. The 145 km drive from Everest Base Camp (North Face) to Tingri should take approximately five hours.

Day 07: Tingri to Saga (4,580 m.) 216 KM

Drive from Tingri to Saga. Overnight at hotel or guest house. The 216 km drive from Tingri to Saga should take approximately six hours.

Day 08: Saga to Paryang (4,750 m.): 255KM

Drive from Saga to Paryang which is around 255 km away and should approximately takes seven hours to reach. You will cross Zhongba on the way. Overnight at hotel or guest house.

Day 09: Paryang to Lake Mansarovar (4,560 m.): 260 KM

Drive from Paryang to Mansarovar (Chiu Village) which is around 260 km away and should approximately takes six to seven hours to reach. Overnight at guest house or tent camp depending on the availability.

Day 10: Lake Mansarovar to Darchen (4,550 m.): 30 KM

Visit Lake Mansarovar, drives to Darchen which is around 30 km away and should approximately take an hour to reach. The remaining day is for you to spend at leisure. Overnight at guest house.

Day 11: Darchen to Dirapuk (4,765 m.) for the Kailash Parbat Parikrama / Pradakshina

Today, you start your holy trek (Parikrama / Kora) in which you circumambulate Mt. Kailash. You begin with an hour’s drive towards Dirapuk, after which you have to trek for approximately four hours to reach Dirapuk. The trek offers myriad views the western face of Mt. Kailash and its fantastically changing hues at sunrise and sunset. Also, for aged travelers and those not able to undertake the trek for fitness concerns, we can arrange a horse ride or a yak ride provided we are informed for the same well in advance.

Day 12: Dirapuk to Zutul-puk (5,610 m.)

Trek from Dirapuk to Zutul-puk via the Drolma-la Pass which takes approximately eight to nine hours to complete. En-route, you will also pass Shivasthal, one of the highest points in your trek and if legend is to be believed, where Lord Shiva and his wife Parvati used to sit. Overnight at tent camp.

Day 13: Zutul-puk to Darchen and on to Lake Mansarovar (4,560 mt.)

Trek from Zutul-puk to Darchen, which should take you around four hours, to finish your circumambulation of Mt. Kailash. You will then drive to Lake Mansarovar which you should reach in approximately an hour. Overnight at tent camp.

 

Day 14: Lake Mansarovar to Paryang (4,750 mt.) to Saga (4,580 mt.)

Drive from Mansarovar to Paryang which is around 260 km away and drive to Saga. drive approximately take six to seven hours to reach. Overnight at hotel or guest house.

Day 15: Saga to Tingri (3,700 mt.)

Drive from Saga to Tingri which is around 374 KM away and should approximately take five/six hours to reach. Overnight at hotel or guest house.

Day 16: Tingri to Kathmandu via Kodari Border/Kyirong border (720 mt.)

Leave early in the morning and drive to the Kodari Border or Kyirong border which should take approximately. After completing the immigration formalities, you will then cross the border and drive approximately for four to five hours to reach Kathmandu. End of the tour.

At the moment, Kodari border is closed, therefore you will proceed to Kyirong border and complete border formalities.
