Itineraries


Day 01: Drive from Kathmandu to Kerung/ Kyirong (2900M): 175KM, 5-6 Hrs.

Early in the morning drive to Rasuwa Gadhi (newly opened Nepal and Tibet China Border). You will drive through paddy fields and picturesque villages and rivers. After you reach Kerung/Kyirong border, clear Immigration and customs formalities on both sides (Nepal & China) drive to Kyirong, the small town of China. Overnight in Kerung at Local basic Guesthouse.

Day 02: Drive from Kerung/ Kyirong to Old Tingri (4300m): 250M, 5-6 hours

Your Journey Starts with an adventure drive into the dry and arid landscape of the Tibetan Plateau. You pass through Peikhu Tso Lake (4600M, a cobalt blue lake). En route, you can enjoy a great panorama of Himalaya including Mount Shishapangma, Langtang, Gaurishanker and Annapurna. From Old Tingri, you could also see Mount Everest. The sunset view is also very awesome if the weather is good. Overnight in Old Tingri at Local Guesthouse.

Day 03: Drive from Old Tingri to Rongbuk (2 hours)

Drive to Rongbuk Monastery, explore around Rongbuk. If time/weather permits, hike to EBC or keep it for another day. Overnight at Guesthouse in Rongbuk.

Day 04: Explore Everest Base Camp (5200m) and drive to Shigatse (3950m): 365 KM: 6-7 hours:

Today early in the morning, you will hike to the North Face of Everest Base Camp; Explore around EBC and back to Rongbuk. Eat Breakfast and continue drive to Shigatse, the second busiest town of Tibet. Overnight at Hotel in Shigatse

Day 05: Drive from Shigatse to Lhasa (3650m) via Gyantse: 360KM – 6-7 hours

In Shigatse, you will visit the Tashilhunpo monastery is the seat of successive Panchen Lamas founded by the First Dalai Lama in 1447 has more than 57 halls and 3600 rooms. This monastery has a giant statue of Maitreya Buddha (Future Buddha) which is the largest of its kind in China.

Enjoy a scenic drive to Gyantse, another historical city of Tibet where you will visit Kumbum Stupa (the largest stupa ) and Phalkhor Monastery. Then you will continue to drive to Lhasa crossing the Karo La (5,010 m) and Kamba La (4794 m) passes. The road also follows the bank of Yamdrok Tso (Turquoise Lake), one of the three largest sacred lakes of Tibet, also believed to be the transformation of a Tibetan goddess. And you cross the Yarlung Tsangpo (Brahmaputra) River to reach in Lhasa. Overnight at Hotel in Lhasa

Day 06: First Day Sightseeing Tour in Lhasa City

After breakfast, you will proceed for full day sightseeing of Potala Palace, Barkhor Street (Bazaar). Potala Palace, this legendary palace built atop a single hill is synonymous with Tibet by the first foremost king Songtsen Gompa Barkhor Market place, which is the religious and social focus of Lhasa. Transfer to the hotel. Overnight at hotel in Lhasa

Day 07: Second Day Sightseeing Tour in Lhasa City

After breakfast full day sightseeing of Sera Monastery, Jokhang Monastery. Sera Monastery, 5 Kms north of Lhasa, Sera setting is one of Lhasa’s prettiest monasteries. Once a community of more than 5,000 monks resided here and was virtually extinguished by the Chinese. Jokhang Temple, situated in the heart of Old Lhasa, it houses Tibet’s most precious religious relic, a golden Shakyamuni Buddha which was brought as a gift by the Chinese Princess Wen Cheng on the occasion of her wedding to the Tibetan King, Songtsen Gompo. After Sightseeing, you will be transferred to the hotel for your Overnight at the hotel in Lhasa.

Day 08: Departure; Drive to the airport or train station for your next destination.

Our team transfers you to the airport/train station in time for your flight/train. You can either fly back to Kathmandu or fly to any other city of mainland China to return your home.
