The return trek of Mount Everest Base Camp from the Lukla airport takes 12 days with two days full acclimatization. Because of unforeseen weather of Lukla airport, it is always wise to keep few extra buffer days (2 days at least) for this trek. We recommend start your EBC trek right after a day you arrive in Kathmandu and keep other activities like sightseeing and exploration in and around Kathmandu after the Everest Base Camp trek. The trek reaches a high point of 5545m at Kalapattar, a small peak offering views of Mount Everest and the Khumbu icefall. Everest Base Camp Trek via Jiri – 18 Days could be taken as the classical, purest, and most authentic trek in the Everest region as it follows the routes that early pioneers in the 1950s would have used. While most people prefer to fly in and out of Lukla these days, it is still possible to trek in from the classical route at Shivalaya. Instead of taking flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, you can take a day drive from Kathmandu to Shivalaya/Bhandar via Jiri town where the trek begins. Before the Lukla airport, this trail was used for the trek to Mount Everest Base Camp. Everest Base Camp Trek via Salleri can be done either taking flight from Kathmandu to Phaplu and Rumjatar airports or take a long Jeep Ride from Kathmandu to Salleri. Jeep ride to Salleri from Kathmandu for the Everest base camp trek has also become popular these days. The road is pitched and good to drive. On this trek, you will again fly back to Kathmandu from Lukla airport or can take the same day back to Kathmandu. The choice is yours! Everest Base Camp Trek from Salleri begins from BP Highway and separates from Khurkot and you will drive northeast to Okhaldhunga. The total time of the drive to Salleri from Kathmandu is about 8-9 hours. You can enjoy the diverse landscape of the countryside along the Sunkoshi River. This trail includes a picturesque landscape, Sherpa and other communities, Himalayan views with flora and fauna. Pikey Peak is situated at the Lower region of Solukhumbu district at an altitude of 4070 meters above sea level. From Pikey Peak (Danda), you can get the grand views of mountain peaks including Mount Everest, Dhaulagiri, Makalu, Kanchenjunga, AmaDablam, Lhotse, Nuptse, Gaurisankhar, Langtang to the war west. Everest View trek is one of the popular trekking trails for those who have a short time and have difficulty hike in the higher altitude. This is like a half-way trek to Mount Everest Base Camp. You can do two types of trek on this itinerary one is Everest View Trek and another is Everest Cultural Trek. The main objective for both treks is to watch Mount Everest as closest as possible. We can also include this trek as a luxury one. On this trek, you spend two nights in Namche Bazaar and do the hike to Tengboche and back to Namche next day or you can hike to Everest View hotel and back to Namche.
