In April 2019 we (me and my girlfriend) did a 7 days trip which started off with 2,5 days in Lhasa and some monastery’s close by and then took us over the breath-taking Tibetan highlands via the Everest basecamp to the Nepalese border, where another car picked us up to drive us to Kathmandu. This great mix between on the one hand the mysterious and still very present traditional and friendly Tibetan culture with all its rituals, monasteries, temples, and prayer flags and on the other hand the stunning view of the vast Tibetan mountains, where being over 5000m is almost normal and the top of the world only seems to be a glimpse away, is something which is worth every journey there, no matter how long it is.
Best you don`t fly directly into Lhasa but acclimatize a bit beforehand, else the first days could give you a bit of a “headache”. We took the train from Beijing and had a stopover in Xining where we also did a very nice day trip into the nearby hills (up to 3800m). If you plan a similar trip, maybe try to stay one or two days longer in Lhasa and also on the road trip in the Tibetan highlands, there is plenty to see and not enough time (unfortunately we did not have these additional 2 days).
One important thing why this trip was such a great experience surely was Anup and his counterpart in Tibet, Norbu. They did an absolutely amazing job organizing this whole trip, starting with the train tickets from Beijing and ending up in Kathmandu. Anup was extremely responsive throughout the whole organization phase, which helped us a lot to get a good feeling about what was coming up. Also, it was important for us to get a Tibetan guide in Tibet and not a Chinese one. You could really feel that Himalayan Windows is still a small company that engages in a personal relationship with its clients and is very concerned that they will have the best time possible – and this is worth a lot from my past experiences. I would give 6 stars if it was possible.

We have been traveling internationally for over 40 years and I must say that the service provided by Himalayan Windows is second to none.
Anup, the owner of the company personally took charge to adapt their standard tour to meet our interests and time the tour to allow us to attend not one but two festivals in Bhutan.
On such a long tour you can expect there might be some hiccups and need to fine-tune travel arrangements. Anup was in constant contact and responded immediately to any and all changes that needed to be made.
We highly recommend if your thinking to visit this part of the world you should first contact Himalayan Windows and see what they can do for you

I really thank full to Anup to be available to me from Day 1 of meeting him online and answering all my questions and give me the confidence to do my first Himalayan trek.
I would recommend Himalayan windows to everyone who is looking for a worry-free experience, especially for first-timers who may have a lot of questions and don’t have the confidence. Anup is very patient in explaining all your questions and will make you comfortable and ensure your needs are fully taken care, he is 100% reliable and committed to make your trip a memorable one
Thank You, Anup again for all your support
Our group spent 12 days in Nepal and 8 days in Bhutan. Anup and the local guides he paired us within Nepal -- Anish and Ajit -- were friendly, great communicators, and detail-oriented. They made sure we were comfortable throughout the trip and took care of any little itinerary change quickly and professionally. The Bhutan segment was great as well. It was a different local guide. The Bhutan segment was great as well. It was a different local guide. There was some miscommunication at the beginning, but once that was sorted out, everything went smoothly. It was not as good as the Nepal portion of the trip only because our experience in Nepal was above excellent. Overall, I would say it was still above average.
I can whole heartily recommend these guys for anyone wanting stress free travel in the region. I felt like I made some new friends in Nepal and will be in touch again the next I visit.
My wife and I recently used Himalayan Windows to coordinate a short trip to Bhutan. Anup was kind, prompt, and professional throughout the process. He arranged a 3-day, 2-night trip that packed in the best of Bhutan for the time that we had. We enjoyed the flight over Mount Everest, the incredible dzongs, and the trek up to the Tiger’s Nest monastery. The price was very reasonable, considering the package included a driver and a guide who took us everywhere. Himalayan Windows made sure that our travel visas and airline tickets were ready when we arrived.
Anup also coordinated a hike for us from Nagarkot to Dhulikhel in Nepal. Once again, the price was reasonable and the experience was incredible. Our guide and driver were knowledgeable, courteous, and accommodating.
We plan to return to Nepal soon, and will once again rely on Anup and Himalayan Windows to provide a great time at a great price.
It is my pleasure to write this review for Himalayan Windows. It is my pleasure to write this review for Himalayan Windows. I normally go solo whenever I want to hike, trek, climb or just travel overseas but a friend of mine recommended Himalayan Windows to me when she knew I was planning to go to Nepal as she’d had a good experience using Himalayan Windows for her Langtang trek last year. So, I decided to give it a try and I’m very pleased with the outcome. Check my video on youtube below.
Himalayan Windows recently arranged my Everest Base Camp including Kala Patthar trek with a high standard trek quality but for a far cheaper price than any other agencies’ prices on this planet. Anup, the founder of the Himalayan Windows, warmly welcomed me at the airport and provided one of the best hotels in Thamel prior to/and after my trek. He also gave me advice on where to buy trekking gears in Thamel. Himalayan Windows is very professional. When my flight from Kathmandu to Lukla was canceled 2 days in a row due to very bad weather in Lukla, Anup still provided a very nice hotel in Thamel for 2 additional nights without any extra costs. Before my flight got canceled again on day 3, he had arranged a helicopter ride for me and my guide from Kathmandu to Lukla so that I could start my EBC trek, otherwise Everest would have to wait for me. Himalayan Windows is also very helpful, accommodating, and flexible. I called Anup on the mountain after reaching EBC & Kala Patthar to change my route and destination last minute, and Anup happily accommodated and fulfilled all my needs. He called my guide, and me regularly on the mountain to check my condition and to know how I was. He also helped my sister a lot when I was on the mountain providing her with tea houses/lodges’ names and phone numbers so that my sister could call me, as she wanted to know how I was.
After climbing down the mountain, when I was back in Kathmandu, I asked a very last minute request for him before dawn to arrange a car and a driver for my Kathmandu sightseeing and he quickly arranged everything for me just after the sun rose. My last night in Kathmandu was closed by a delicious traditional Nepali dinner treated by Himalayan Windows. What I also like from Himalayan Windows is that Anup doesn’t treat me like his client but for more like his friend? Overall I’m certain that my experience exploring Himalaya wouldn’t have been half this good had I not had Himalayan Windows as the agency that arranged my trek.
It is without hesitation that I highly recommend Himalayan Windows to anyone who wants to trek the Himalayas in Nepal or just wants to do Kathmandu sightseeing as they have an experienced team with the right skills and passion to make a difference in the lives of trekkers and travelers. If I ever return to Nepal in the future, I will definitely use Himalayan Windows to arrange more treks for me. All the best for Himalayan Windows! Cheers, – Cicilya-
I always trust and appoint Himalayan Windows Tours every time I visit Nepal. My recent trip to Langtang National Park was definitely never to be forgotten experience and thanks to their team who helped us with total arrangement. Previously I also had remarkable experiences when I explored Upper Mustang area and also Tibet. Thank you for continuously providing best support whenever I visit the country.
